EarWell : A Non-Surgical Revolution for Infant Ear Correction

The EarWell® Infant Ear Correction System, manufactured by MediTEC Devices, is the first and most advanced nonsurgical infant ear deformity correction device. Invented by Dr. H. Steve Byrd, a renowned board-certified plastic surgeon in the USA

About Earwell

EarWell is a revolutionary non-surgical infant ear molding device designed to treat baby ear deformities and irregularly shaped ears. It is important to note that EarWell addresses only cosmetic concerns. This safe, pain-free, and noninvasive solution has proven efficacy. For optimal results, it is recommended to apply EarWell® during the early stages of life when a baby's ear cartilage is most malleable. EarWell is designed to be highly effective on infants less than three weeks of age. It has been successful on children slightly older, but favorable results diminish with each passing day.

When to apply EarWell?

EarWell® must be applied early in a child’s life (optimum is less than 3 weeks). The earlier the better.

Before and after application of EarWell
How long does it take for Earwell to work?

The EarWell® procedure is completed in just minutes, right in your doctor’s clinic. After 4 to 6 weeks, they will be shaped normally (Individual results may vary). Regular weekly visits to the doctor are necessary to monitor the growth of the ears and determine if any adjustments to the device are needed. Our Ear Well kit includes all necessary spare parts for replacement, ensuring seamless treatment. In case any parts become displaced, they can be readily replaced during these visits.

Early Detection is Key

During the first few weeks of life, a newborn still has its mother's estrogen in its system, which makes their ears softer and more moldable. This period is referred to as a small window, during which EarWell® should be placed for optimal results. After this window, it becomes harder to achieve desired outcomes with EarWell®. Spreading awareness and knowledge about the product is crucial to ensure timely intervention and successful ear correction.

No more "Wait-and-See" Approach

Choosing a "wait-and-see" approach may inadvertently miss the optimal window for EarWell's effectiveness. It's advisable to address any ear irregularities or deformities early on, as delaying treatment could necessitate surgical intervention later in your child's life.

What is infant ear deformity ?

An ear deformity is a condition in which an infant's ear is misshapen, often resulting from its position in the uterus. It's not uncommon for newborns to have temporarily folded misshapen ears. While many deformities are cosmetic and can be treated with EarWell®, some may require medical attention.

Detecting any ear deformities in the early stages of life is crucial. By identifying these deformities early, you have the power to save your baby's ears from potential concerns and prevent the need for plastic surgeries down the line.

Ear Deformities go unnoticed in India

The standard treatment in India for ear deformity is surgery. The child must wait for 5 or 6 years and then undergo a painful surgery. In India, many infant ear deformities go unnoticed; hence, it is imperative that awareness is created so that these deformities can be detected in the earlier stages of life. Even severe ear deformities have a 93-95% success rate if treated within the first 14 days.

Who can apply Earwell in India?

In India, doctors are preferred to perform the application of the EarWell® device. All qualified doctors, including plastic surgeons, ENT specialists, pediatricians, and general surgeons, can apply the device on babies. The process is straightforward and can even be performed by nurses after receiving detailed training, following practices similar to those in the USA.

When to consult with the doctor about Earwell ?

Consult with a healthcare professional promptly after the birth of your baby, or if you notice any irregularities in the shape of your baby's ears, to address potential ear deformities, ensuring timely intervention. While some deformities may resolve on their own, others may require EarWell. Early consultation is imperative for the baby's overall health.
