The EarWell® Infant Ear Correction System, manufactured by MediTEC Devices, is the first and most advanced nonsurgical infant ear deformity correction device. Invented by Dr. H. Steve Byrd, a renowned board-certified plastic surgeon in the USA
EarWell is a revolutionary non-surgical infant ear molding device designed to treat baby ear deformities and irregularly shaped ears. It is important to note that EarWell addresses only cosmetic concerns. This safe, pain-free, and noninvasive solution has proven efficacy. For optimal results, it is recommended to apply EarWell® during the early stages of life when a baby's ear cartilage is most malleable. EarWell is designed to be highly effective on infants less than three weeks of age. It has been successful on children slightly older, but favorable results diminish with each passing day.
Non-Invasive
Pain-Free
Safe & Effective
EarWell® must be applied early in a child’s life (optimum is less than 3 weeks). The earlier the better.
The EarWell® procedure is completed in just minutes, right in your doctor’s clinic. After 4 to 6 weeks, they will be shaped normally (Individual results may vary). Regular weekly visits to the doctor are necessary to monitor the growth of the ears and determine if any adjustments to the device are needed. Our Ear Well kit includes all necessary spare parts for replacement, ensuring seamless treatment. In case any parts become displaced, they can be readily replaced during these visits.
During the first few weeks of life, a newborn still has its mother's estrogen in its system, which makes their ears softer and more moldable. This period is referred to as a small window, during which EarWell® should be placed for optimal results. After this window, it becomes harder to achieve desired outcomes with EarWell®. Spreading awareness and knowledge about the product is crucial to ensure timely intervention and successful ear correction.
Choosing a "wait-and-see" approach may inadvertently miss the optimal window for EarWell's effectiveness. It's advisable to address any ear irregularities or deformities early on, as delaying treatment could necessitate surgical intervention later in your child's life.
An ear deformity is a condition in which an infant's ear is misshapen, often resulting from its position in the uterus. It's not uncommon for newborns to have temporarily folded misshapen ears. While many deformities are cosmetic and can be treated with EarWell®, some may require medical attention.
Detecting any ear deformities in the early stages of life is crucial. By identifying these deformities early, you have the power to save your baby's ears from potential concerns and prevent the need for plastic surgeries down the line.
The standard treatment in India for ear deformity is surgery. The child must wait for 5 or 6 years and then undergo a painful surgery. In India, many infant ear deformities go unnoticed; hence, it is imperative that awareness is created so that these deformities can be detected in the earlier stages of life. Even severe ear deformities have a 93-95% success rate if treated within the first 14 days.
In India, doctors are preferred to perform the application of the EarWell® device. All qualified doctors, including plastic surgeons, ENT specialists, pediatricians, and general surgeons, can apply the device on babies. The process is straightforward and can even be performed by nurses after receiving detailed training, following practices similar to those in the USA.
Consult with a healthcare professional promptly after the birth of your baby, or if you notice any irregularities in the shape of your baby's ears, to address potential ear deformities, ensuring timely intervention. While some deformities may resolve on their own, others may require EarWell. Early consultation is imperative for the baby's overall health.

The Stahl’s ear deformity (Spock Ear, Elf Ear) is characterized by a transverse crus extending outward from the antihelix rather than continuing upward in a gentle bend as the superior limb of the triangular fossa. Stahl’s often presents with multiple or combinations of deformity.
Helical rim irregularities or compression may occur anywhere along the entire circumference of the helical rim.
Lidding is a condition where the superior crus of the antihelix is compressed or folded over the helical rim.
An advanced form of the prominent ear with an incomplete opening of the ear. Often characterized by very stiff and resistant cartilage around the scapha and helical rim that can feel as though a string envelopes the helical rim
Presents as an abnormally protruding ear (Bat Ear, Dumbo Ear). The over-projection is significant and typically exceeds 9mm from the mastoid. Often is under- or undiagnosed until too late for EarWell™ correction.
The conchal crus is an abnormal fold of cartilage crossing the mid portion of the concha symba that appears to divide the ear in half. It often results in prominent ear.
The ear cartilage framework appears buried beneath the skin with no apparent sulcus (where the ear meets the skull) or skin behind the ear.
Many ears present multiple deformites in combination. on the left (1) Stahl’s, (2) Helical Rim, (3) Conchal Crus deformities. on the right (1) Lidding and (2) Conchal Crus deformities.
